BEE cause we have to work towards a better future outcome!

Today is the longest day, the day of the Summer Solstice -

The Solstice has been described as the source for creation. The Summer Solstice has traditionally always been a time for celebration, if you are a druid or have similar beliefs it holds great significance for you.

'Summer Solstice is the symbolisation of the light of the consciousness within ourselves and within each and every person, and to reflect upon the potential for consciousness to awaken' .

For me and many others it simply means the beginning of Summer. Summer and all that we hold dear about this time of year. Enjoying the great outdoors. Making our own garden spaces a place to enjoy and contemplating family, friends and nature whilst we make the most of our time out of doors.

We are not the only ones to make the very most of the warmer months. Our wonderful honey bee and the many other species of bees are busy collecting nectar and pollen to make into honey. Honey which not only sustains the hive but also has to supply us. The bee has a far more important role than just honey production. One which we could not ever hope to replicate in such an efficient way if there was ever a large scale threat to the bee population!

More than three quarters of the foods that we eat have required that a bee pollinates the source plant or plants. https://www.nrdc.org/wildlife/animals/files/bees.pdf

We can all help our bees. In our own spaces be it a garden, allotment or tubs outside your home, schools or local parks there are many places that we can plant bee friendly plants. With the countryside going more and more over to mono culture for many bees our towns and cities offer a more diverse source of plants to feed upon. http://blog.nwf.org/2015/06/bees-find-better-habitat-in-urban-jungle-than-farm-country/

Today plant in your own consciousness

the intention of planting for the bees and using bee friendly pest control. We can then all be more hopeful of a better future for our bees upon whom we so depend. The vast majority of us can no longer choose to ignore what will not wait any longer to be heard .
